Juli Kathryn Thorson, PhD

Kate Thorson is a retired philosophy professor who has always had a sideline in making art. As a philosophy professor, she specialized in epistemology and feminism. Concepts from these two subdisciplines frequently show up in in her art, especially the social impact of our knowledge structures. Her art mostly fall into three main themes: figure, abstract, and allegory. She has won awards for both teaching philosophy and for her artwork. In 2024 she moved to Bainbridge Island, Washington.
